On December 20th, 2025, I joined the festivities with my family, excited about the immersive experience that awaited us. The resort has become a hallmark of holiday traditions in Grapevine, offering not just a winter wonderland, but a joyful escape from the often-overlooked holiday rush.

This year marks the 21st season of the ICE! exhibit, showcasing over two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures crafted with meticulous attention to detail. As we entered, we were greeted by a stunning display, and it quickly became apparent why this event continues to captivate families year after year. My Experience: From Snowball Fights to Ice Slides
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cheerful atmosphere filled with twinkling lights. Prior to our visit to ICE!, we decided to test our snowball-throwing skills at a designated area where kids can create their own snowballs from real snow. This was a hit with my children and a unique way to enjoy snow in Texas, which is a rare occurrence! We then slid down the newly designed snow tubing hill which has replaced long waiting lines with a streamlined ramp, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for guests.
Enjoying the 'Elf' Theme: A Fun, Interactive Experience
The theme for this year, Elf, did not disappoint. The exhibit featured iconic moments from the film, including Buddy's classroom and the memorable spaghetti scene. Children and adults alike were enchanted as they navigated through the ice sculptures and interactive displays that bring the movie to life. With a themed slide and detailed sculptures, it became a memory my family will cherish for years to come.
Shiver in Style: Preparing for the Cold
For those planning a visit, it's essential to dress appropriately. Although the resort provides parkas, the attraction maintains a frosty -9 degrees inside, so layering is key. A few tips include wearing gloves and keeping your phone in a warm pocket to avoid freezing issues, keeping the focus on enjoyment rather than on technical difficulties. Preparedness can elevate your experience significantly.
Culminating with a Dazzling Light Show
After experiencing ICE!, we were dazzled by a captivating light show that illuminated the atrium.
